WELCOME: Cypress Creek High School Water Polo Club is proud to co-host the 45th Annual Texas Interscholastic High School Water Polo State Championship. We share this privilege with Texas A&M University and the Water Polo Clubs.

FORMAT: 16 Team Championship Format for each gender (32 teams total). All teams will receive at least two games.

DATE: Friday & Saturday, April 29 & 30, 2016

FACILITY: The Texas A&M Natatorium showcases a 50 meter, eight-lane competition pool equipped with two moveable bulkhead with allow for a conversion to either 25-yard or 25-meter courses. The pool has graduated depths of seven to nine feet. The facility hosted the 2009 NCAA Women’s and Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships

LOCATION: The Texas A&M Natatorium is located at 797 Olsen Blvd, College Station, TX 77840, on the campus of the Texas A&M University.

PARKING: On both Friday and Saturday, buses can unload on Olsen Blvd. next to the Rec Center (south of the Rec Center parking lot entrance directly on Olsen Blvd.).  They should not attempt to enter the Rec Center Lot or turn down the side street between the Rec Center and the West Campus Garage.  Due to construction, both these areas provide no turn-around areas.   Once they are unloaded / loaded they must immediately depart the area.  Buses may park in one of the empty RV spaces in lot 100J South.  This lot is east of Olsen Blvd (the same side as the Rec Center) and between Olsen Field and George Bush Drive.  Please have them back into one of the RV spaces next to the grass.

event spectators may pay to park in the West Campus Garage directly north of the Rec Center.  They just pull a ticket upon entry and pay before leaving.  All surface lots during the week require A&M permits.  On Saturday, spectators may park for free across Olsen Blvd. from the Rec Center in Lot 100G at Reed Arena in any unmarked spaces.

If participants are arriving in vans, please have the vans pay to park in lot 100j. There is a pay station near the plaza entrance of the baseball stadium.  Large passenger vans will not fit in the West Campus Garage and they are not permitted to park on campus without paying.  (Buses do not have to pay as long as they back into the RV spaces.)

 

RULES: 2015-16 National Federation Rules for all competitions. Team on top of bracket and 1st team listed wear dark caps. All tournament games are 6 minute quarters with 2 minutes between quarters and a 5 minute halftime. Each Team will have 3 one minute timeouts per game. If the score is tied at full time in any game, condition into overtime shall begin an interval of five minutes. Two periods shall then be played, each of three minutes actual play. If, at the end of the first two periods of overtime the score is tied, there shall be an interval of two minutes. There shall be a coin toss to determine ends for the first sudden-victory, golden goal, three-minute period. Additional three-minute periods will be played until a goal is scored, at which time the game shall end. After each sudden-victory three-minute period, a two-minute interval shall be allowed for change of ends.

Each bench will consist on NO more than 2 Coaches, 1 Manager and 14 players.

 

Each Coach and Adult Managers’ MUST be a TISCA member to be able to be on bench/be on deck and vote for All-State Teams.

QUALIFIERS: Top Four teams for each gender qualify from the four regions in Texas

 

  • Region #1) North Dallas
  • Region #2) East Houston
  • Region #3) South Houston
  • Region #4) West Austin (Waco to Rio Grande Valley)

 

 

 

All qualifying teams must submit a complete team roster (14 players per team, 1 manager, 2 coaches) with roster verification signed by principal AND team photograph. Use template for roster and roster verification form, which will be provided prior to Regional Tournaments.

AWARDS: First through third place banners, MVP trophies and All State recognitions for both girls and boys. All State Team selections will receive a certificate for their accomplishments.

ENTRIES/ROSTERS DUE: Rosters information must be emailed to Kim Coachman coach555@sbcglobal.net no later than 5PM on April 17th.  Please provide cap numbers and grade for each athlete when you submit your roster. Please use the appropriate roster template attachment. Captains names, mascot, colors, current record, and all coaches names should also be provided with the team roster. Entry fees must be accounted for before a team can play in the tournament. Templates attached.

COACHES: MEETING: A general coaches meeting will take place on Thursday, April 28th at  8:00 pm. The meeting will be held in the Classroom at the TAMU Natatorium. A referee meeting will occur at 9:00 pm also in the Classroom on Thursday night.

PROGRAMS: Programs will be available for $10 at the ticket counter inside the Texas A&M Student Recreation Center.

ENTRANCE: Spectators enter through main doors to Rec Center. Officials & Teams enter through the main athlete entrance. ALL COACHES/ ADULT MANAGERS NEED TO BE TISCA MEMBERS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A DECK PASS.

CONCESSIONS: Smoothie King offers a variety of healthy options including smoothies, breakfast tacos, burgers, sandwiches, quesadillas, and specialty items, yogurt, salads, fruits, soft drinks, sports drinks, bottled water.

HOSPITALITY: Hospitality will be available for Coaches and Officials.

 

EVENT APPAREL: T-Shirts, Sweatshirts and other apparel will be available for pre-orders ONLY. Order form to follow.

 

NOISE MAKERS: According to UIL/ TISCA rules, noise makers are not allowed on deck or in the bleachers. This includes horns and musical instruments. If used, you will be escorted from the building with NO refund. TAUNTING/ UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED BY FANS. YOU WILL BE ESCORTED FROM THE BUILDING WITH NO REFUND.

 

PHOTOGRAPHERS: All deck photographers must be preapproved by Organizing Committee. Submit by 5pm Sunday, April 24th.
